Journey
The map ended. The journey didn’t.
At ten, Sam Calder finds a mile marker beyond the end of Alder’s map. Over the next decade, one road expands into bridges, forgotten towns, mountain routes, conflicting maps, damaged records, Marker Zero—and finally the harder work of deciding what connection should mean now.
Evidence firstThe road can disagree with the map.
One year at a timeSam grows from ten to nineteen.
Real consequencesWeather, bridges, trade, trust, maintenance.

The series
One boy. One road. Ten years of learning what a map can’t tell you.
JOURNEY is a grounded middle-grade adventure series about curiosity growing into responsibility. Every book covers one year of Sam’s life. Every journey adds real geography, real people, and a new kind of problem to the same expanding network.
The early books ask whether the road is there and how far Sam can safely follow it. The later books ask harder questions: Which histories can coexist? Who gets to publish a route? Who maintains a bridge after the exciting part is over?

The map grows with him
By the end, one missing mile has become a regional network.
The maps on this site are reader schematics built from the manuscripts. They preserve the series’ most important cartographic rule: a historical line, a current road, a seasonal route, a broken crossing, and controlled access are not the same thing.
The larger idea
A road does not stay connected because somebody found it.
It stays connected because people inspect it, close it when conditions change, repair it, argue about it, share responsibility, and come back later to review the choices they made.
